As we change the future of mobility, we are committed to contributing to a more sustainable world.
Our goal: decarbonizing the company by 2030
Every day, we make significant progress towards our two main goals: decarbonizing our operations by 2030 and our supply chain by 2045.
As part of our sustainability journey, we partner with customers and suppliers to address the urgency of climate change, the importance of social equity, and the opportunities for a circular economy along our value chain. And we are doing it at speed.
We have achieved several of our sustainability goals ahead of schedule, and in the coming years, we are committed to surpassing even more ambitious targets - we want our stakeholders to feel proud of choosing Marelli.
Our key priorities
We are focused on what matters most to bring about tangible change. We have identified five core areas:
Products and technologies: Sustainable by design
We are committed to integrating sustainability in every aspect of Design-Led Innovation, offering vehicle makers flexibility to create driving experiences that resonate with users. Our approach prioritizes sustainable materials, energy efficiency, waste reduction, and recyclability.
Operations: From commitments to results
In 2025, Marelli closed its three-year sustainability roadmap with strong execution across operations. We reinforced ESG risk mitigation through key certifications, reaching 32 SA8000-certified plants, 98% ISO 14001, and 96% ISO 45001 coverage, alongside expanded due diligence and audit programs. Safety performance improved, with a 30% reduction in the injury frequency index, reflecting a more proactive approach to prevention. Environmental performance also advanced, with a 74% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and 88% renewable electricity consumption.
Supply chain: Integrating sustainability into sourcing
We strengthened sustainability as a core sourcing priority by embedding a three‑level ESG due‑diligence process across our supply chain. Suppliers are assessed on labor practices, ethics, human rights, health, and safety, with 98% of suppliers nominated undergoing ESG assessment. We are committed to continue reinforcing supply chain resilience and risk mitigation.
People: Promoting an engaging and inclusive workplace
Female representation at director level and above reached 16% in 2025, reflecting steady progress over the past three years.
Employee engagement remained strong, supported by structured performance and career development processes across the organization.
We also continued investing in people development, expanding training and upskilling programs to strengthen capabilities and support long-term growth.

Marelli earns EcoVadis platinum medal
EcoVadis is the world’s largest and most trusted provider of business sustainability ratings due to a global network of more than 150,000 rated companies. This acknowledgement positions Marelli within the top 1% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis across various industries.
- EcoVadis platinum medal was assigned with an overall score of 90/100, marking a step up from last year gold (80/100) and reflecting continuous improvement across key sustainability themes.
- The EcoVadis assessment evaluates companies across four themes — Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement — using a comprehensive, evidence-based methodology.
- The platinum medal reinforces Marelli’s commitment to transparency and strong sustainability governance. It also supports the company’s ongoing engagement with customers and partners who increasingly rely on third party sustainability assessments in their procurement and supplier selection processes.

Marelli achieved two “A-” ratings from CDP
Marelli has been recognized with an “A-” rating in Climate Protection and Water Security by CDP, the leading international non-profit that evaluates companies’ environmental transparency and performance. This reflects Marelli’s achievements in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and water intensity, reaching a leadership level among 22,000 companies.
We are part of UN Global Compact
We are signatories of the UN Global Compact and adhere to its ten principles in human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.
